How Brexit hurt UK fish exports

Fishing communities throughout the UK backed the vote to leave the European Union, only to find that red tape, hygiene requirements and additional costs left them struggling to export their catches to the continent. CGTN’s Michael Voss visited the nation’s largest independent fishing fleets at Newlyn in Cornwall, to see how they are coping.

Fresh Cornish Fish is a new company that has adapted to the trade deal by moving online to maximize the increase in demand for fish in the UK.

They were warned, over and over again.

They refused to listen.

They chose to listen to the Brixiteers' fantasies and lies, because that appealed to their greed, and their stupidity.

And now they are close to going extinct.

All hail the Late, Great, British fishing sector!

Meanwhile, the fishermen of Norther Ireland(NI) are doing very well. They're having NO problems exporting to the EU at all....

Odd, that....

well that happens if you trust others and dont take the extraeffort to check out by yourself how your voting might effect your business. I mean they where and they are professional fisherman and the EU regulations for third countrys was clear and in power much before 2016 and some only because of UK demanded tham, so that its fisherman can profit from it. To be fair the Torrys lied about the bending from EU, the upper hand UK will have, but at least with reading the 3rd countrys regulation, this fisherman could have seen/judge the risk. And since each fish can just be catched once, their game was reduce the French or Dutch or.. quota and to hell with tham, as long as we can make more profit -- witch in itself is a comercial aceptable stand, but not much worth, if they come and ask for support after their original plan to gain profit (=screw the others) has failed.
Act like a shark and win your extraprofit or not, but note: in any outcome/case the others will notice, your a shark.

Plenty of scope for retaining tobe a lorry driver or agricultural worker. Bother are new opportunities for those that voted brexit.

Did you really think that forty years of others pilfering our fish stocks and you guys concentrating on exports would be fixed in a year or so?
We're all having to adapt and change.
I buy your fish on line by the way. Stay safe.
