What about turning an attached carport into a bedroom? It is a concrete floor with wooden roof attached to the house. All we want to do is just build walls insulation flooring ect. It has an outlet already and a light. All we need to do is put walls up basically. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

What about adding a driveway and not touching city plumbing? My contractor told me there are some creative ways around permitting and they involve the residence being owned by a trust or some specific entity like that. Know anything?

Very interesting! What if you are moving a wall 2 feet into a living room space and there is one outlet in it? Moving wall would bring it closer to the other connected outlet so you wouldn’t have to add anything length to wires. Does that require an electric permit or just a construction and building sub code permits? Thank you!

what if by the time anyone notices i have it already done. sidenote this a 85 yr old poorly constructed place that i have replaced 85 % of with far superior construction with photo evidence every step of the way.. my friends are all in favor of just doing it and having it basically done before i let anyone of importance even look.

this is completely false. it depends on the authority having jurisdiction on what will require a permit.
