This feels like the tidiest iPhone lineup in a long time. There's finally a clear, functional separation between the regular and Pro models. We're seeing far fewer takes from reviewers saying "the Pro is really just a slightly nicer screen and a telephoto lens". The differences have really piled up this time in ways that "pros" or advanced users can actually appreciate, and more casual users can easily opt out of without feeling like they're missing out. Be it that extra bit of graphical oomph and a bigger/higher refresh rate screen for gaming, or an objectively more capable and enthusiast oriented camera system, or godly amounts of battery life in the Max, or more storage than my laptop has... "Pro" feels like it means something more this time.

The one minor inconvenience of the slightly taller notch is when watching videos with a 2:1 aspect ratio. Those videos fit perfectly on the older iPhones, but they get slightly cut off by the notch in the 13 series.

Still on my 7 plus. 5 years and still going strong - I watch all the new ones come and go and just think, nah, this one will still do me. I’ll wait till they stop supporting it and even then I’ll probably drag my heels. For those taking the plunge, enjoy.

The 120hz screen alone was enough of a sell for me to get the iPhone 13 Pro. I usually sit in front of a 144hz computer monitor so when given the chance to get similar refresh rates on my phone, I jumped at the chance.

I'm going for the iPhone 13 Pro because I'll be buying for the next 4-5 years. I don't necessarily need the pro but it's been hard to convince myself to get the 13. Ugh

There is absolutely no reason for me to go with Pro features that I never use. I would suspect that most folks are in the same boat, but buy the Pro anyway. I only use my phone for phone stuff. Calls, texts, email and a few apps like banking, fitness, maps, weather, etc. I never watch any videos or play any games. I also only do point and shoot pictures. So the 13 is really more phone than I actually need.

I’m fully satisfied with my iPhone 13 midnight black, that fulfils my needs while business communications through emails, data transfer works on social networking sites with normal uses of cameras. No point to spent for pro models, as price differences are huge in India and also all models have same size notch.

I love how Americans say it’s expensive. If you only tried yo purchase it in Europe. The iPhone 13 starts at 1000€ and than up to 2000€ for the pro max 1T. And in poor countries of Europe where salary a month is 300-400€ …

I think the 6.1” regular 13 would be more recommended if Apple wasn’t charging an extra $30 for an unlocked version, but doesn’t on the Pro models. That makes the difference between the 6.1” models only $170. At that point, you mind as well just buy the Pro, if you don’t want the mini. The extra charge is ridiculous to begin with, and they are clearly trying to force customers to spend the extra on the Pro. Otherwise, they’d charge the $30 unlocked premium on the Pro models as well.

That's very well explained. For me, I have M1 Macbook Air and high end custom built PC back in home so for me there is not much point getting the Pro Max as iPhone won't be my main device anyway.

Still keeping my 11pro. Waiting for the 14 or 15. It’s a shame apple won’t offer 120hz across the lineup and a hole punch like android has been doing for years. Not to mention even the base iPhone 13 with upgraded storage and apple care is close to 1000 dollars and still has a notch and 60hz. It’s a shame seems like apple is pushing the expensive pro sales with this new release. Apple might lose a customer

I didn’t choose the 13 pro max, it chose me. Or rather, the 12 mini chose it for me. Lovely little device but I just couldn’t let the power user in me go, and the mini was rarely carrying me until noon.

Holding the max, it feels like an absurdly hyperbolic dimensionally comical product. In every way. Feels good, man.
