I see my friends and family struggling with getting their children to do chores. I remember back in the day when i watched Wife Swap a family showed their kids at a young age that doing chores is a rewarding experience, and this reminded me of that.

Reading a book, doing the dishes, throwing out the trash should not be punishments for bad behavior.

I want to recommend giving small children child-size and -specific eating utensils to help, just as they have a child-sized "yes-space" world available to them.

I remember my own set, learning motor skills to feed myself was easier when the utensils were easier to grasp and put into my mouth than the utensils that the adults used at my Grandma's house. My fork had smaller more rounded metal eating tines on large chunky plastic handles with divots for fingers and thumbs at the base near the eating part.

This is how i was reared, like as soon as i could hold a pencil my mum kept putting it in my hand and encouraging me to use it, i did draw on a wall at one stage but she didn't get mad. She and my gran used to involve me in cooking too, not dangerous activities but i was taught how to use knives from very young, supervised of course. I was helping my gran peel potatoes by 6 or 7, and cooking using all kitchen equipment safely by age 10
