I was a foster mom to over 30 children. Sibling separation in foster is a huge ordeal. We need to start demanding laws and policies that can do a better job at keeping siblings in the same homes. When all options fail, we need to make ongoing contact mandatory :-( I'm speaking from both sides of foster care.

Why would you adopt one kid and not the other? I get not having enough money etc but in my opinion, better to not adopt either one. I couldn't knowingly separate siblings like that. I'm so happy they're reunited. This was beautiful 😭😭😭

I found another brother when he was in his 40s. He knew about us but we had no idea about him. He's now in his 70s and it's been awesome.

They're bio momma and daddy made beautiful children! Definitely those eyes Shawnie is pretty but Lord have mercy Luke is just unrealistically fine! This story made me cry because I'm a younger sister too and being ripped away from my brother like that is something I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I've been separated from by my brother but because he went to college then joined the military and almost immediately sent to enemy lines. The feeling of just knowing he was there and rarely knowing how he was or where he was for periods at a time or not knowing if he was coming home on his own two feet is the worse feeling in the world. He's my only sibling and thinking he could be taken away from me is something I never want to feel again and thank God he came home honorably discharged from the Air Force and now he's a chef in Hawaii.

I know this feeling oh so well. I went 25yrs without seeing or talking to my sister before we were reunited...and we picked up like we never lost touch. I'm so happy for them.
