Overcrowding is beautiful as long as you have good filters and in a platy rank 20 percent water change every three weaks is fine

With this many plants to clean up the water and (I am assuming) good filtration (because the water looks pretty clear), this is not overcrowded. People who say a 20 gallon tank can only house 8-10 platies do not know what they are talking about.

I am curious, I have a 20 gal with 2 gouramis, 1 small skirt tetra and one platy, how many more platies can I add to the community tank? Oh yeah and two tiny algae eaters.

Disgustingly overcrowded, 12-13 platties for a twenty. Larger if you're cohabing. Upgrade :/

Overstocked, I’d say 8-10 platys is enough for a 20 gallon.
