All these paths that you see light taking, are geodesics. That means that these are STRAIGHT paths. If we could see in 4D these would be straight paths! Therefore Gravity is simply this local region of space litterally bending and curving into itself.

Really cool that you can actually kind of see the "side that rotates towards you is brighter" effect an actual black hole has. (pretty wild I can say "has" now, because we actually have images of black holes (or at least their disc and "shadow" because you cannot see the blackhole itself as it gives of no light) nowadays. I cannot wait for the next years when they increase the image quality further)
