Watching your series makes me more confident to try doing an LFS run sometime soon. I have done a personalized distro using Ubuntu as a base and many of the concepts here seem familiar. Good stuff.... =)

it reminds a bit of the different modes in vim at first, but i think its actually something a bit deeper

like formally you could probably equate them to some degree, but functionally and semantically theres a lot more substance to the tty example
