In this video, we meet Tash and Connor, aka Carramello, a couple living full-time in their self built yellow Mercedes Vario Van. With over two years on the road, Tash and Connor have transformed their van into a luxury mobile home that fits their adventurous, off-grid lifestyle. As self-employed roofers, their van also doubles as a mobile work base, giving them the freedom to travel and park at job sites while enjoying the comforts of home.

They share their motivation for choosing life on the road over a traditional mortgage, highlighting the freedom, cost savings, and flexibility it provides. From their spacious “garage” for bikes to their 280L water tank and solar-powered system, every detail in the van has been customized for comfort and efficiency. Tash and Connor also reveal how they stay connected with a welcoming community of nomads, and also proving that van life can support any career—even those that aren’t fully online.

We get a full tour their off-grid setup, outdoor cooking station, rooftop deck, and from a motorbike in the back, to a wine cooler, marble counter top, and an LED star effect bathroom ceiling and all the other custom touches that make this van the ultimate blend of style, adventure, and freedom

Ive travelled the uk for the last 41 yrs in 15 different campers fabricating and installing zinc and copper roofs, parked in spots you could only dream about on grand design style houses..my last 5 vans have been merc t2, currently had my 709 9 yrs, the travelling roofers truck of choice ..might see you on site somewhere.
