The pyro putty comes with different temperature formulas represented by the colors they produce id suggest trying either the Summer/orange or the Eco Blend/Green those have been easier to light and I’ve used a ferro rod with those, the blue blend I had to use magnesium or a lighter.

may i suggest getting a different striker. your knife is leaving many ridges and a few r not a problem but that many is not good. the zombie tinder ferro strike sold by raethco is my suggestion. also they make an amazing ferro rod called the ferro strike v3
