Hey Dennis, i'm already on the bootcamp training. I'm a driver with CDL class A but eventually want to broker out loads to myself and owner operators I know personally. I'm in a heavy warehouse area along with a rail yard terminal within miles of my home. I have a partner with a MC working a cargo van with a Amazon contract but i want to add to his authority has a FF with my own semi truck, introducing him to the INTERMODAL side of transportation then get a trailer VAN then eventually start my own brokerage overall, im very interested to do INTERMODAL, me having my CDL i want to broker my own loads to my partners' MC and owner operators, including myself.

I am looking a job in Fontana 92336 area as frieght broker agent to get an experience. I do have dispatching experience, know 4 languages and have contact with the trucking companies who own 300+ trailer and small trucking companies too with 5-50 T/T.

Thanks for ALL your knowledge! I have a question I’m stuck on for a week now. My dilemma is trying to determine which operating authority I need. I want to start a freight forwarder business. I don’t own a warehouse. I will be working from home. I will have truckers (I won’t own any trucks) go pick up loads from my shippers then drop at the ports. It’s reefer containers (General Cargo). But FMSCA says I only need a Broker license. I thought I needed a OP-1 FF Authority. But I was told only if you have a distribution center or warehouse. Im thinking about just saying yes I have a warehouse. Even though I don’t. Can broker even print shipping line Original Bill of Ladings(OBL) on the behalf of their customers?

can you explain how amazon sellers located in the east coast is able to send sea freight goods from china to long beach port in USA and then have the goods from long beach sent to amazon FBA warehouse near long beach? the most cost effective way of doing so? because it doesn't make sense to have goods sent to the east coast since the sea freight will need extra time to pass the peninsula canal which is about a month. sea freight from china to long beach is only 2 weeks.
