Posture Lab for Triangle Pose of the HEAL (Bikram Yoga 26-2) Class. Triangle Pose is the master posture of the series, working the heart and the lungs to make them more efficient, strong and healthy.

Why You Need To Do It
- It is called the master pose because it works every muscle, joint, tendon, organ and major gland.
- It creates the perfect marriage between the heart and lungs, stimulates the cardiovascular system and respiratory system. Your heart reaches peak beats during triangle.
- Stimulates the nervous system, reproductive organs, thyroid and adrenal glands.
- Lengthens the spine, opens the chest and broadens the shoulders. Creates space which allows the physiological systems to work efficiently.
- Strengthens and firms the entire body.
- Increases the strength and flexibility of the hip joints.

Key Techniques
- One of the most challenging postures. You must bring total attention/concentration to detailed movements that will make or break your form. Move with the words, double, triple check proper alignment.
- Stomach in. Tuck it up!
- Keep thinking stretch during the entire posture. Stretch the crown of your head up, chest up, stretch your arms wide apart.
4 feet, you need the right step. With proper alignment you create natural dynamic tensions that will help keep you in the right place. Not collapsing.
- Push your feet into the ground. Pay attention throughout the entire posture. Push them into the ground.
- Don’t let your knee go beyond your toes. Everyone’s anatomy is different but someplace knee above heel is good.
- It is normal to slip. You need to build strengthen in the body. Keep your spine straight before you move your arms. Shoulders above the hips. Engage your inner thighs. Think knee and ankles in. Push your foot and toes into the ground. Keep the weight distribution in the middle of the body. Not leaning, sinking onto the side.
- Hips go down low, stay down there. Exhale as you bring hips down more.
This is the start of the posture. It opens the hips and positively effects the internal organs. A little bit goes a long way.
- Allow hips to open. Hips down and forward toward the mirror. Opposite knee goes back.
- Simply move your arms. Stretch your arms up and down until you touch your toes!
- Look up to the ceiling. Turn the head to bring your chin to the shoulder.
- Upper body twist backwards, this is a spine twist.
