Why Is Your BRP Expiring On 31 December 2024?

If you have been granted indefinite leave to remain (ILR) in the past few years, you will probably have been issued with a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) with an expiry date of 31 December 2024.

From 1 January 2020, applicants who are granted five years limited leave to remain have also started to receive BRP’s endorsed with an expiry date of 31 December 2024.

If this applies to you, you may be concerned that your permission to remain in the UK is going to expire on 31 December 2024.

The good news is that it isn’t! Your leave to remain will remain extant beyond 31 December 2024.
The date restriction also does not change your entitlements to work, access services/benefits or travel. Only your card will expire on 31 December 2024.

Under the Tories Government, this was racist I been in this country since I was 15, and I served in the Army for 12 years , and when that vow Theresa May took office she had issues with Jamaican people, I still even today get call to go behind enemy lines to defend British interest. Thank you so much for the information you mentioned these are clarification I wanted to hear and to listened to...now I can answers to those i knew what's the different between who came to the UK 🇬🇧 to work and hold a passport within European countries. I came to the UK 🇬🇧 to work and became a resident (34 years) with green card ( registered) I travelled a lot in Europe by land and Air and never been questioned...my registration card came from the moment I entered the UK renewed every year until I got my residency status and indefinite stay...Does these means do I need to get BRP card for 2024 to be registered??? My question is why.? Thank for the reply..🙏

I know two Asian women who never worked in this country married to British man both are now widowed and I heard one of them is receiving pension same amount as someone who worked all her life. The other person is not a pension age yet and is expecting to get her pension in two years time. Now what I don’t understand is that why are these people entitled to have pensions if they have have not contributed a penny to the system whilst I worked so hard all my life paid my tax and my insurance and I get sod all pension? I’m angered because these people are enjoying life holidaying abroad yearly, have properties in the country they came from whilst I’m stretching my little pension to make ends meet. Is this fair to us who worked hard and these people who just sat on their behind have more on their plate? Can someone please explain.

My wife who was born in italy has lived in UK since 1960 (when she was 2) until 2010 when we moved abroad for work, we also have a daughter born in UK, we had to return after covid but she can not get ILR because we were out of the country for 10 years, but refugees and immigrants can come over and apply no problem, they now want to split up a genuine family who wish to remain in the homeland
