No More Biometrics Residence Permit In The UK? New UK eVisa as BRP's Expires On 31st December 2024

Through the eVisa system, the UK immigration status of an individual will be recorded online. One of the main advantages is that there won’t be any physical cards, unlike the BRP, and there is no risk of loss or theft. Furthermore, an individual’s immigration rights, which include work rights and rental permissions, could be viewed through the eVisa system.

Not really helpful, just a lot of vague waffle ; there are lots of people who, with help, have got their BRP card but they are not tech minded enough to work out how to show their visa status to airline staff at Bangkok, Delhi or whichever airport . What is needed is explanations of how individuals will be able to prove their right to enter, so that they will be allowed to board aircraft .

Mine BRP expires on Nov-2024, do I need to renew it? Not able to found any information about this.

I've used an e-gate at Edinburgh airport, I scanned my passport and had to look at a screen the same time. So I think the e-visa will be in your passport which you scan when returning to the UK.

Very helpful. I hold ILR I have enrolled biometrics for my BRP last year July and still have not received my card . Am I likely to receive my brp or won’t be issued due to brp being quashed?

Well if you lose your phone….Card much quicker to whip out. Also will foreign immigration control understand what’s plonked in their face at the airport? Lost in translation!?
