Hi everybody. Oh I do do love a video that causes a bit of debate and controversy. To be clear. Adding passengers will not make the capacitor disappear. I did not attend Hogwarts and it is no magic trick hahaha. It will however help to take your focus away from the offending capacitor lol.

The visibility of the capacitor and plastic mounting in the windows is pretty shoddy considering the colossal cost of this model in order to recreate a consist. I am perfectly happy with my 1980 version and thanks for this review as I am not going to waste my money on this now. Excellent and very helpful review. Thanks.

I got all four sets for Christmas. Just waiting on the 7car set now. I think I may just cut the capacitors off to be honest and disconnect the lighting as I am not a fan of it on my layout. I was so excited when the APT was announced and am glad that I am getting a full set but I do feel Hornby could have done a better job with this set.

It looks the outside, but the interior ? It's like they didn't even consider the inside at all given how much it would have added to the cost which is disappointing

This is a fair an honest review.
People like point out bad things with a model cuz it happened to someone else a2/3 I think
Ros terrier to be fair so many bad reviews of them.
As for this apt yes the TV came across honest I think.
Surely if people are horrid by the stuff you can see then change it your self or don't buy it.
Or open it and put a picture of something in the window ect or like you said people.
Like I said honest review.

Sorry not sold on this model given the high price to many things could have been done better if they had taken their time people don't mind waiting if they get a really good model. I have been to a well known model shop today I have not a clue how young people will be able to afford to get into this hobby everything is top dollar now. Yes you can buy second hand but the prices have gone up a lot and has it own set of problems. I can see models heading towards £300 + in the near future.

ITS the reflections in the windows when the lights are on that bothers me same as most models thet come with fitted lights. Can fix it with matt black paint or look at them from a distance.

I’ve been watching the programme on yesterday and Simon was concerned about the shade and light bleed but how on earth did he pass this model, please don’t let me take away the fun of anyone ordering this but as I said about the power car it should and could be better for the price, it’s was a second chance to get this spot on and it’s sad as it’s very close, very close if the interior had more than just plain plastic and sorry capacitor like the rapido APT-E it would of been a smash maybe hornby will read feed back and do another batch with these modifications it’s so near too, great review but as I said I’ll stick with my 1985 one, All the best mate take care 😊👍🏻

I might get myself one when I can afford it, despite it's flaws. I like to buy models that I like the look of. I'll wait and see if the pack itself has good performance before deciding whether to buy one or not. Probably will buy one though.


If not I can always but the IC225.

Good to see what the other coaches look like, they should look nice when there is a full set, shame about the capacitor as everyone says but it just shows that there was no thought put into that at all, whoever decided to set it up like that is obviously very stupid, I feel that you were a bit defensive in this personally, not minding if there is things noticeable in the windows is your decision of course however the majority of people will be annoyed with this because this model was highly anticipated and is very expensive, with coaches costing this much which I think is £100 people expect it to be correct and they expect it to be designed properly, i certainly wouldn’t be pleased if I had waited the time it has taken for this to be made and it is what you have there when you add passengers that capacitor will still be noticeable how you think it won’t surprises me, many people are going to modifying this secondly a video is already out that shows people how to modify this safely so it doesn’t damage the model.

Sorry, but it's inexcusable to have such a horrendous cap in view, I have watched another video showing it moved and there is plenty of room for it elsewhere. Any manufacturer, would be ashamed of going to such trouble to produce such a finely detailed model and fall at the finish over one item! (I am a Design Engineer)
