Evangelism Is Not Missions

Please pray for me. I deliberately rejected Christ for so long, almost a year. I was a professing Christian, and I walked away with the intention to get saved later, and to just enjoy sin for a little while. I was an apostate and now I am scared I might commit the unforgivable sin. My issue is that I don't want to give up my sin. I know I can't do it without God but I dont want God. I wish I wanted God, but I'm not sure if that feeling is genuine or not.  I still love my sin and i wish I didn't love my sin, I'm not sure if this feeling is sincere or genuine. I've been praying for God to make me hate my sin, but I'm not sure if those prayers are sincere or genuine. Please pray that my desire for salvation becomes genuine and sincere and that God saves me. Please pray for me.

I thought this was true for my life honestly. I don’t think missions is necessarily what I’m called to, at but I know there are communities I can evangelize to that are associated with the talents I’ve been given. I guess it just depends on what “unreached people” means, and what the passion mentioned in the video looks like.

Piper must be reacting to the common pushback against overseas missions which is to say that we have more than enough people near us that need saved. However, "missions" is not a Scriptural term. Consequently, one can define it pretty much however they want to. You can't provide Scripture which supports the claim that missions is this or missions is that. You can, as Piper, define it how it has been traditionally defined, but these ways of trying to distinguish it from evangelism are by and large arbitrary, at least speaking of the issue from a technical theological standpoint.

Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV

By believing in Christ finished works on the cross you become a Christian. Christ died and rose again for our sins, and all who believe are eternally secure in Christ.

Ok maybe not the missionary's job, but certainly the job of the _evangelist_ . Further, all pastors are required to labor in the harvest field as evangelists (2 Tim. 4:5). Obey Deuteronomy 25:4 and stop expecting people to work for free!

I get what you’re trying to do here but your statement is absolutely false because I missionary hast to evangelize in order for people to believe so you’re at I know what you’re trying to get at but you’re wrong. But you need to say if you don’t need to leave the country to evangelize you can evangelize your neighbors across the street

Piper, since pride is so very fatal, how about organizing an anti-pride march? We’ve been barking up the wrong tree. Your followers tell me that while abortion is bad, it is pride that is the root of all sin. Let’s lobby our government for a law against pride. Maybe we could search the texts of scripture for what certainly must be the first commandment, Thou Shalt Not Do Pride. (Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before? I feel like giving myself a pat on my back.) You can convince the in-place prolife infrastructure to recalibrate to pride, something that they will surely be wiling to do. After all, it is pride that kills babies, right?
