That Red F-150 driver needs to take a physics lesson.

Bro tried to help, I feel bad for him but he is one bad driver

I like how he went back to the car to “help” even more

It makes the mud liable for all the slipping and sliding that happened next.

My Dad has towed a lot of cars in need (usually mine) and towing carefully is a VERY tenuous process that usually requires a LOT of position, repositioning and for the chain/rope to be constantly taut

That makes Mother Earth... LIABLE, for putting that hole in the ground. And if you think you need help getting out of the mud, don't call the guy with the red truck.

I could be wrong but it looks to be a kinetic rope, which is used by quickly taking up slack and putting the rope under tension. The rope stretches, providing further kinetic energy for offroad recoveries. The operator of the pickup should not have done such a large bump, and realistically should have used a static rope.

Careful planning should have been done, but I think the shortcoming is the red pickup not accounting for the tail of his truck sliding after the initial bump.

THERE WAS LIKE 3 CARS WORTH OF SLACK BETWEEN THE CARS! IF HE WAS DRIVING THAT FAST ON A ROAD, HE'D BE A GIANT DEADLY YOYO, WHAT WAS HE THINKING???

Someone judging with zero experience in the subject shouldn't be judging what kind of experience does a lawyer have on the matter when he is wearing a suit!!!!

What you say is correct but it’s applied to a bad example. The tow rope being used is a kinetic rope— this is exactly how it’s made to be used and this is exactly the situation that it’s designed for. It’s just unfortunate that there was a giant crater there. When mud is that deep, your truck cannot tow something out because it doesn’t have the traction, as trucks are very light over the rear tires. A tractor easily could have towed them slowly with a chain, but they didn’t have a tractor. The kinetic rope allows you to stretch it, and the force of the rope pulls both parties back towards each other with a bungee rope effect…if you do this while the stuck party is also flooring it (reducing the traction of their wheels), you have a greater chance of overcoming the additional friction of the buried wheels since the overall momentum favors the first party. Both parties knew this, as the second truck likely wouldn’t have moved had he not been flooring it also.

Gotta love the “parties were not injured” disclaimer in all these videos where parties were almost definitely injured

Absolutely true about punishing the helpers. America needs to learn this lesson before we put another good samaritan in prison.

Well, even though red truck is “liable”, it wasn’t a tow per se. it was more of a recovery attempt. The reason for the rope slack and the red truck gunning is the red truck needed a momentum. The grey truck was stuck and the mud was way too slippery to pull it out slowly. It was most likely the only way to do it, given the circumstances.

It makes the MUD liable for all the damages that happen next 😂❤

This depends on the type of tow rope used. Recovery ropes, also called kinetic ropes, are often elastic and rely on slack and stretching in order to jerk the stuck vehicle out of the mud. Ugo is most certainly correct on towing when on paved streets, but recovering a vehicle stuck in mud can be a different scenario.

Bro thought the other car will just defy the laws of physics and follow road rules

Both of them did the exact opposite of what you should do in this situation. You can't fix stupid

My car died on the Tacoma Narrows bridge once & a very nice man pull in front of me & offered to tow me across the bridge. I was so grateful because I had already caused a 3 mile backup. I had never driven a car that was being towed but my friend had, so she drove. Unfortunately when we were pulling into the closest parking lot my friend didn't see the giant pothole and the tow line snapped from having to much slack & cracked his fender! I felt horrible but the guy was really nice about it (probably because I was young & my car was already broke down) and said don't worry about it. He did say his wife wasn't going to be happy since he was driving her brand new car! He kinda said it like it was funny, I wonder if they're still together? 🤔
