The 3 factors are ( X+3), ( X-2), and ( X-6)

Multiplying those out gives X^3 -5X^2 -12X +36.

I’ve been watching your videos as preparation to the praxis parapro exam. My math score was 24/25. Thank you for the simple explanations.

There are 3 solutions for Y = 0: if X = - 3, Y = 0, if X = 2, Y = 0 and if X = 6, Y = 0. So you get the function f(X) = (X + 3)(X - 2)(X - 6). This results in: f (X) = X^3 - 5 X^2 - 12 X + 36.

This video only showed where the line intersected the x axis when y equals zero. You can get the other points on the line by plugging in other numbers.
Plug in 0 for x.
f (x) = 36
f (×) = y
y = 36 when x = 0
That's where the curve is on the y axis where the y axis intersects the x axis at zero.

Now these are the kind of problems that make you think. Good video. Thanks

What would be the answer if we were asked the y intercept? Is it 36?

Now if there are less than 3 x intercepts, then things get complex! ;)
