I live in St Petersburg- it used to be affordable but in the last three years it's gotten so expensive to live here that over 70% of locals are moving away. We currently experience a housing crisis, price gouging in the grocery stores & cost of gas is always high. Transplants from the North East moving here to buy up rental properties have jacked up the costs of our homes, rentals, restaurants & entertainment. They refer to St Pete as "The New York City of the South" for a reason

Jacksonville native here, good luck on your search most of the cheap spots are in horrible areas, Pearl street, Myrtle, mcduff, post street and so on. Everyone moves to Orange Park just south of Jax but it is not affordable by any stretch unless you come from like Cali or NY which (shocker) a lot of y’all do. And it drives up the prices and overpopulates everything everywhere. I was able to drive just fine in NYC the first time I visited due to my driving career having been started here with all these lunatics😂

St. Pete affordable?? That’s comical. The average home in downtown/old northeast is like $800k now. If you don’t want to live in a place where you could get shot, you’re looking at minimum $380k for a home. And it’s still going to be a gentrifying area with some rough spots.

Median sales price in Cape Coral is almost double what you said. It's sitting around $420k right now

I have family on Jacksonville and we stay there a lot and we do our own shopping and cooking and I’ll have to agree

I had a feeling of #1 which is also where I’m gonna go — bad reputation for crime and it’s NE Florida. I like that it’s big enough to have all the city amenities and dip into the decent weather (still gets cold in the winter m), but still have more of a southern feel than a lot of other Florida cities.

St. Petersburg inventory is super low and prices are still high as of nov 22. It is not affordable anymore. Maybe in 2018.

Homie said jax is cheap.🤣 If you want a home in Riverside at that median home price you gonna have a dealer next to your left and a pedo to your right

Cape Coral has Insane insurance rates, the entire town is on an artery of canals and is a prime target for storm surge.

There’s a home in Miami with garage and a pool for only about 4k

Jacksonville's "affordable" housing is in the hood

Cape Coral was trashed during hurricane Ian. You’ll be lucky to find a home $400k in the boondocks. Homelessness has risen and cost of living is horrific. Pay sucks and even rent will run you over $2k.
