It was a great time. Kids could go out exploring, wandering God knows where. You got on your bike and just rode. Didn't have anybody standing around watching children like today. Basically, we were safe. My brother and I took music lessons on Saturday morning. Mother dropped us off and said she'd meet us downtown. After the lessons we would wander down through alleys, people's backyards. Safe! Eventually finding our mother in one of the stores.
