This video will be on probably one of the most iconic and longest serving pieces of military headwear and that would be on the French kepi. This video will cover some of the milestones in the evolution of the kepi and some of the other adoptees and influences on this legendary piece of headgear. I love French military history and it’s hard tog at more iconic then the kepi considering it had almost served continuously for almost 200 years. The examples in this video are of the later coffee can style and were produced for the French medical corps in the mid 20th century. The green one is for a French junior lieutenant of the pharmaceutical corps and the maroon one is for a medic of medical corps. Hopefully you liked this video and subscribed if you like this sort of stuff. Please leave a comment with any questions, additional information, user experiences, or suggestions for future videos and I will do my best to answer them. As always thanks for watching.

Thank you,

Devin K.

In Thailand, The Royal Thai Police Cadet Academy (RPCA) has adopted the culture of wearing the Kepi cap of the Gendarmerie police since about 1902 CE onwards. the kepi cap has been used with the study uniform and casual attire of police cadets at the RPCA.

This is a real beautiful and amazing hat actually!
Even the Iranians have ones adopted a hat looking so much like this called the Pahlavi hat, and it looks reallygood and military looking!

Nice video! A lot of good info! My uncle gave me a box of army/police hats one day and I got a kepi with the top colour being a dark blue and the circular part being black. And the decoration sort of being gold like yours. Not sure about the insignias on the buttons though. Do you know what it could be? Sorry for the basic question, but I’m not good at figuring out kepis
Edit: forgot to mention the insignia thing on the front looks like a feather
