He must have felt incredibly relieved to see his dog again. Hope they’re happy ❤

God bless that woman, I don't know what I would have done if I were in his position, I like to think I'm a somewhat hard guy, but this made my eyes flood. Thank you for this story

This is currently happening to another man I saw on Twitter.
He was in a car accident and the shelter was given necessities to look after his two dogs when they adopted out to other homes while he was in a coma.
This is still very recent, he is still fighting for his babies to come home!

The foster mother would've been HEARTLESS if she knew the entire situation and was STILL set on adopting him.

Thank you, Kim for ignoring beurocratic b/s and getting that poor man HIS baby back. My husband is a trucker and his company allows him a dog under a certain weight. We paid for a microchip, pay a monthly 20 fee which has all kinds of benefits which includes volunteers relay racing Buddy back home(didn't k ow that was a thing, how neat) and we bought a tag with Buddy's and my husband's name and both our #'s. Glad this man got his Bullet back.

I can't imagine going through all of that, only to then find out my cat was missing. I would be beyond devastated. I'm SO glad that Bubba found Bullet again. Shout out to Kim Joppie for making their reunion possible!

This made me cry happy tears. I already know what it's like to be reunited with a once thought lost pet and the relief it brings to be with them once more. I'm so happy for both of them.

Not big fan of shelters. I lost my cat and it took 3 weeks for me to find him when someone found one of my posters. They said they had given to the spca. The spca had adopted my cat. Despite offering the new owners the cost of another cat they refused to contact them. Now I lost the Sparty and a cat was prevented to get adopted. He was micro chipped. This is in Montreal.

Why would they need more than photos? How much proof do they need? This is only one of the reasons why shelters are not so trusted in my area.

What's wrong with the shelter? Why should a random person show up to claim a specific dog and lie about it? What's more proof than bringing both together to see if the puppy reacts accordingly? Glad he got his puppy back ❤

Bless the woman that helped him.

Awful that the shelter refused to actually help. If photos weren’t enough they could easily arrange or allow a meeting instead. Or checking with his vet to see if it’s likely to be the same dog.

Also basic things like calling the dog by it’s name to see if it responds.

If someone was holding my dog, wouldn't give it back, there'd be one less foster mom on earth in short order.
Wtf is wrong with people

What the actual eff. A shelter that "requires more than photos to prove ownership"?? ESPECIALLY for a unique little mutt??! There is definitely only ONE Bullet in the world. SHAME ON THAT PLACE!!! I wonder how many people's and pets' lives they've RUINED because of their STIPID POLICY!

The director of the place no-doubt moonlights on her local HOA as well. HORRIBLE! Thank goodness Bubba and Bullet weren't their next victims!

That’s so sweet. One time I was walking my dog and we came across this beautiful white husky. Loose. No people around. And I didn’t have my phone. I have taken dogs off the street so many times and reported them if they had no collar and I’ve even kept them overnight before.

My dog never needed a leash I just used them for other people because he was so big. So I took his leash off and put it on this dog whose tag said Everest and I was going to call when I got home.

So we’re walking and I start to hear someone yelling and they’re yelling Everest. I couldn’t see them though. I had to shout back SHE’S HERE! And he found his way around the fences.

He looked like he was crying. So I said I was on my way home to call because I don’t have my phone and he started sobbing. In relief and gratitude. For me finding the dog and not being able to call the number on the tag. Because Everest belonged to his friend who had to go to his mother because she was dying.

And he’d absolutely freaked out when she ran away and said it was like an angel shouting “She’s here!” back to his prayers and that he was so grateful I couldn’t call because it was his friend’s phone number and he really didn’t want to tell his friend he lost the dog he loves more than anything. Dogs are so important to people. I bet it was so hard to tell this guy his dog was missing when he woke up from his coma. I’m glad they both got their dogs back after such tragedies.
