Last year, my big iPhone 7 video was hit with copyright- so today, we're giving it another shot with the added context of iOS 17! Hope you all enjoy!
Also, anyone still using the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus? How's it been working for you since losing support?

the fact that the iphone 7 had 2 gigs of ram and 256 gigs of storage is crazy

Early iPhones up to the iPhone X had their own personality in design. Now you can hardly tell the difference between the 11-15

This was actually my first iPhone! Despite the fact that one year later the revolutionary iPhone X was released, I really loved my 7. It was a great introduction to the Apple world

I upgraded from an iPhone 7 to XS early last year, just before it lost the latest iOS. Mum now uses my 7, and she’ll be getting my XS next year, when the same thing happens again.

It’s a great little phone, and is streets ahead of the 6, which I had to use for a month earlier this year. For one thing, Mum has an app to control her hearing aids, which refused to work on the 6, but does not have the same problem on the 7.

Thanks for the content, as always!

I had the Jet Black iPhone 7 plus since it came out in 2016, and i have upgraded to the iPhone 15 pro max in October. I would have kept my iPhone 7 Plus for another year, however I was having issues with the lightning port being loose and not charging properly after several years of use, and of course the battery with its inefficiency was starting to become inconvenient.

I bought a half price new iPhone 7 on Prime day in 2019. I did not replace it until 2022 when I bought a new half price iPhone SE 2020 to replace it. It is a great phone. I used to watch this iPhone 7 keynote to persuade me that I was not missing anything by not replacing it. I still get iOS security updates for my iPhone 7. It is currently running iOS 15.8 which only came out a few months ago. The wired lightning earphones that came in the box with the iPhone 7 were just as good as traditional earphones.

Honestly dude, your videos are like mini documentaries that actually capture my attention. It’s not simply because I like tech either. I like what you bring to these topics and the way you word things and talk. I wouldn’t watch these if it weren’t you doing it. I hope this comment brightens your day like watching your videos brightens mine!!

My mom used a 5C for years upgrading an Ancient Android with Android 2.3. Then have used an iPhone 7 for years. It’s amazing that she has had only 2 phones in 10 years and haven’t felt like she is missing anything. With security updates for another year or two she will likely keep the 7 for at least a couple of more years. You can’t really do that with Android.

Anytime I see an iPhone retrospective and it’s got 91 tech. I automatically click on it. I think there’s some of the best on YouTube. I had the iPhone 7 jet black 128 gig. It was the last iPhone I felt comfortable rocking without a case even though I’ve never broke one from dropping it, I miss the aluminum back don’t really care about wireless charging even though I do use it on a daily basis I could live without it

Talked to a ex-Apple guy before, the reason why older A chip iPads can have newer iPadOS is because in fact iPad SoCs are actually different from the ones used in iPhones with much higher(mostly double) memory bandwidth.

I bought the 7plus about 6 months after launch and used it for 2 years or so. I then sold it to a friend and he used it until about August of this year, when he finally had the money to upgrade to a 14 pro.

It was a fantastic phone with an amazing shelf life, and he got his use out of it during the time. The battery life was terrible by the end, due to 6.5 years of heavy use, but it was still able to do everything you’d realistically need from a modern phone and just missed newer “features.”

I got to see that phone progress through an almost 7 year life cycle and it is amazing how well it aged. I can only hope my iPhone 13 ages as well, because I don’t plan to upgrade until it’s no longer supported by iOS or dies of natural/accidental causes.

So awesome that you did a whole new video for this even though it's only a year and a half later. I watched the whole thing as I did the last one, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Another interesting one to take a look it could be the 12 series. To me that year feels like the final iteration of iPhone, and until they make a major change it just seems like everything since is just an iterant of it. Also a fun story with Covid production issues and everything along the way.

I saw the keynote for the iPhone 7 when I was in LA so it was nice to finally see a keynote at 10 AM instead of 1 PM. When they showed off portrait mode on the iPhone 7 Plus, I was blown away and wanted to try it out even thought I bought into the rumors of an all screen iPhone in development so I decided to wait for next year. I didn’t plan on getting an iPhone 7 Plus but once my iPhone 6 Plus had the Touch IC issue, I ended up getting an iPhone 7 Plus (which I thought of as a temporary phone) and it was amazing. Went across the country with that phone along with having some of my best and worst moments of my life, all in a span of 2 and a half years. Ended up trading it in for an iPhone 11 Pro Max (which I still use, for now) but it was one of the best phones I had.

Also, I had it in Jet Black which is the best color of any Apple product. How I wish I could get a Jet Black iPhone 15 Pro Max and MacBook Pro.

A10 was supposedly that much faster than the previous. But my iPhone SE 1 performed in real world experience better than my 7. Probably to do with the smaller display.

I have a 7 as my secondary phone and it’s running so well. I had to replace the battery but it’s still a great phone. My son has one too and there’s been no problems with that one either.

It's a perfectly usable phone in 2024. It's crazy but i can't say the same for other 2016 smartphones.
