I just watched Ray's video and immediately downloaded pdfgear. It works - VERY WELL - and I've now made it my default program for all pdfs. So, thanks, Ray, for introducing me to pdfgear.

I have been using PDFGear (Mac version) for about a week now and am pretty impressed. There is a little learning curve, but that is to be expected. Some tiny glitches, and PDFG answered my support questions in less than 12 hours. I have used Adobe Acrobat (including the Pro version) since Adobe upgraded products via CDs/DVDs. I feel like a life sentence in Angola State Prison was pardoned with a $100, 000.00 refund from the LA state government that has just fallen onto my desk.

Ive used several different PDF utilities, all of them fail in one way or the other to suit my needs. This one actually seems (so far) to be what I have been looking for. Not to shabby Ray Knows Tech. Nice work.

Wow, thanks Ray. Now I am retired I don't have access to Adobe Pro which I had at work and can not justify that expense. This will be great in so many way.

I pdfgear about 3 years ago. Glad the word is getting around. It is so hood, i wasn't sure if it would stsy free for this long.

Thanks Ray. PDF Gear, although great at replacing *most* Adobe Acrobat Pro features, fails at the OCR function. Adobe has the ability to make a PDF searchable. PDF Gear extracts text from the PDF and allows one to save it in a text file. I need to be able to open a PDF and search for text within it. I don’t think PDF Gear can do that (in fact I wrote the company and they confirmed that their program cannot do it). I ended up using a combination of programs to fulfill my PDF needs: PDF Gear and PDF24 (the latter with the ability to OCR and save within the PDF).

Great video. I'm glad I found this. I have a MacBook. Usually, I edit a pdf in Photoshop. Yes, i know it takes a very long time. I didn't get acrobat for it, but I do on my pc laptop. I just needed to know what font was being used. I will try this. I only need to update prices on a menu. And save myself some time. 🔥

Thanks Ray for advising on this. A great pdf software. Very similar in layout and functionality to Nitro pdf. Have not tried the OCR yet. That is always a toughie.
