Adobe Acrobat Pro is overpriced for many people. Hopefully these free tools in the PDF editors mentioned can help you out.... Thanks for watching :)

We got to a point in our generation that these kinds of programs should already default on Windows and Mac systems. What's the point of buying a work computer spend all that money to still have to pay for these kinds of programs?

You know... I think the PDF format is the best proof that we should only support open standards for documents and what not... Adobe's near monopoly is quite scary, with no decent PDF editor that's free because of it... and even the alternative paid ones have some issues..

the new WPS Office has the best PDF editor I've found. WPS Office is the best free office suite IMO too.

I don't understand why it's not an option for most pdf editors to make a one time purchase instead of being billed monthly or yearly. If it was possible to make a one time purchase i would buy one of the most advanced pdf editors.

I would love to find a alternative to the Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard that I paid for and can no longer use (they shut down the licensing server).
I need a minimal set of features:
1) lets you rotate the image in case it was scanned on a slight angle
2) delete areas of irrelevant text (i.e. scan a magazine page with two articles on it and wipe out the second article)
3) delete pages.
4) Create a multipage PDF from a number of scanned files (i.e. create a 8 page PDF from 8 JPG files).

I’ve been using Xournal for overwrites and markups of pdf’s. It has a simple interface and can run on Linux or windows. My primary use for it is as a whiteboard program where I can mar pdf’s during classes and also for grading. I like it because it’s simple to use, and easy to learn. Text can’t be edited with it, but the drawing feature works really well for my purpose#.

I bought a fully functional Nitro Pro license from a local volume licensing dealer (legit) for a fraction of the retail price, valid for the lifetime of the PC. I think this is the best deal. Who needs Adobe Acrobat?
