The amount of demo preparation you provide in order to give a first class representation of real world application and mishaps is top notch. That alone has made Boat Works my go to channel. The commentary is fact filled, as well as lighthearted, and the information provided shows you are a master of your craft. Thanks for all the effort.

Good to see you again. Those tips are super helpful. Thanks a bunch.
Must admit.... I am super curious about the variance in bond strength as well as the amount of entrapped air. If you are looking for an idea for the next video: cut a strip out of the middle of each of these sections, take a look for bubbles with a magnifying glass, and then flex/bend/scrape until the fiberglass pulls from the substrate. It would be really cool to see how the results stack up.
Stay well. Hope your shoulders are doing better. (I actually winced a little when you were carrying around the sheets of OSB.)

Thanks for this demo, one of those most daunting applications of glass is overhead. Well done sir

Thanks for the advice and the video about this "sticky problem". It's been an issue for me a few times, and now, it makes sense.

My need to make skateboard battery enclosures from a plug and mold led me to your videos, which have all been very tasteful, thorough and well explained. Good work.

As all your videos, this one is especially good. This should be part of a trade school lesson. In addition to be conscientious you also are putting some fun into your work. Thanks, Richard

Gr8 vid Andy! I've used 3M 77 for years setting my glass cloth up when fiber-glassing wings on R/C planes. Some are still flying over 30 yrs later, so I can attest it works fabulously!

Thanks so much for this video - it arrived at the same time as a need to repair a hole below the water line of a boat on a trailer - so perfect timing.
FYI when you pour from rectangular gallon cans hold the opening at the top to minimize (almost eliminate) drips.

Thank you very much! I am the guy who sent you an email via your website to ask you for this video. It seems you saw it. I wonder if it would be so easy if it was completely horizontal, under a roof for example. I guess I will have surprises. thank you again, from France :-)

I just fixed a hole in the bottom of my boat (front lower keel area) and had to lay on the ground looking up. I just brushed it on and let it tack a little and then slapped the glass matt on with my hands and then used a brush to push air and a putty knife. Worked pretty good for me. Pretty slick idea on that last demo. Good stuff as always on your channel. Thanks.

Nicely done Andy. Personal preference is a 1.5 down first and let that start to set then come in as you did. I know they say you can use it as you did but I have had better results this way especially with uneven surfaces from having some younger crew members prepping. Very happy you made it clear the situations for other methods ..if it can sink...do it the first way ... otherwise ...dealers choice

Really enjoyed the video and learning more fiberglassing tips. Glad to see you doing that. I tried some overhead layups but didn't like where air got entrapped due to gravity working against me. Maybe you could do a video on how to address white spots in glass layup, when and if and it needs to be delt with and how to approach it. Creating a test surface took longer than laying up the three test panels so Bertram projects might be quicker in the long run.

Thanks... I'm working on a Catalina 25, and the cockpit decking has got a little more bounce than I'd like... Very timely video as I'll be laying some glass under the decking to firm it up.
