One of the most divisive battles in the history of US presidential elections has yet to produce a winner.

The results from several states are still too close to call

Joe Biden has said he is confident of victory but has urged people to be patient while every vote is counted.

President Trump has been widely criticised for claiming victory at an early stage - while also questioning the validity of postal votes - without producing any evidence.
