i think we really might have more than one "Pit Girl"! In episode one we first see the girl fall into the pit and get completely impaled, but a few scenes later when she is hung upside down and there is really no trace of the impaling, the skin on her back is intact. This might also be a continuity error, since i don't believe they intended on ever revealing the identity of pit girl, the scene was probably there as an example of "brutality"

Callie has an unhealthy obsession with what happened, perhaps pit girl is someone she knows and decides to kill as she's absolutely bonkers like young Shauna.

I think the girl that had the pink converse was Van because she had the same mask on episode 6 when they force Ben to eat.

My guess is that them going back to the wilderness will be some kind of "we never left the wilderness" situation where they recognize that, mentally, they never left that place and the only way to deal with this once and for all is for them to come back. I also think that the birders are an indication that they are not so far from the civilization (and I think coach Ben finding food supplies around are also evidence of that). So maybe the location where they crash is well known in the present and it's kinda easy to get there today (maybe it's even a kind of an accidental "tourist attraction"). I also think Callie would be the perfect Pit girl, but since this is already a theory that's floating around for a while, maybe they decide for another direction to surprise people.

The Callie theory is crazy! It makes me think of when Marie said to Ben in the cave she thinks "theres 2 different timelines in life" only weird thing is I'm pretty sure we see it at least one of the girls young in that scene, I think it was Misty which I believe you brought up. If that is the case I wonder how they'll pull that off? But it's a crazy theory regardless! Love it!

Ok, I have a theory but it's one, w to be honest. I haven't focused on pit girl because I always thought it was like some other commenters have said, to show how far they fall into feral animals. I also thought the secret of the locket was already revealed in how they picked who was the leader - and I thought the queen of hearts was how they picked the hunted.I think pit girl was always supposed to be a generic young girl and the pink shoes represented a teenage girl -- and how something as innocent as a teen girl can be deadly now are trying to rewrite something different because of our response to who is the pit girl?. One of the other reasons I think this is because all these "new" people aren't the core players and even though it is sounding like they are now... it would piss me off if Melissa is someone important in the future.- wouldn't piss me off or surprise me Mari is pit girl since she fell in there already. Melissa-- Didnt' she just show up this season? I don't recall her in the past seasons. It would be disappointing if she is somehow now important when I don't feel invested in her character at all. Ok my tinfoil theory which I find has holes in it because we know at the feast, that we assume is "pit girl" missy is the only one we see- so unless they are jumping back in time I find it hard to believe Callie is pit girl and honestly that to me would be lame... but let's say that entire scene plays out in the future for some kind of ritual for whatever reason - Who besides Callie is played by a young girl with long dark hair.-- a daughter like figure to one of the original Yellowjackets-- and had a present in season 2 with TWO original yellow jackets and two of those original yellowjackets that wore the golden heart chain as a leader? And remember the leaders pass the chain on to the new leader.... which btw- Jackie was the original leader of the yellowjacket soccer team and even in the beginning after the crash-- That person is Lisa who suddenly arrives back on the scene last episode-- let's call her "Lottie's daughter then Natalie's daughter" Callie is Shauna's daughter... Shauna does the slaughtering of the bodies- Shauna lost the most on the island her child and her sanity haha. She is angry because she knows her child was born alive and the island took him... there have to be answers for that- she is a mother scorned... and so the most dangerous of them all--- I think Callie doesn't fall far from the tree--- what if, Callie is the girl in the pink shoes and Lisa is the pit girl. Callie has proven she is ruthless and Shauna made it clear she would protect her family and I believe that 100% And both of Callie and her dad have proven how far they would go to protect Shauna - not the yellowjackets they would not at all. Lottie gives Callie the heart making her the new leader- Both LIsa and Callie were at the retreat when they were in the woods... I think it would be lame to make Callie the pit girl, but making her the hunter... I can totally get on board with that. What will be interesting is if Hillary Swank's character comes with a teenage daughter. Also Tai's son... I don't think he is her biological son - I think he is the bio son of her wife- no one else has a child.... Lisa was the closest "young" person who was taken under a yellowjacket's wing. Lottie (both Callie and Lisa" and Natialie "Lisa" -- that said the time jumping into the past doesn't sit right with me and Missy taking her mask off.-- it feels like this might be a ritual that was interrupted and now in the present - needs to be recreated again? But with the next generation???? Sorry for novel

I saw in an article or I heard it in an interview. I can’t remember now where it was, that “pit girl” was not meant to be such a puzzle for the audience. It was filmed earlier with stand-ins(as we know) and the reason behind the scene was more about demonstrating the brutality of the YJ. To show us just how far they have descended into madness and the ritualistic brutality. The writers were surprised just how much the fandom has latched onto “pit girl.” I think that’s surprising given how much foreshadowing and symbolism that has been weaved into this show. I’m thinking now they really have to deliver something special. I think it’s either Gen or the dark haired outsider. Or more than one “pit girl” makes sense too. I think there may be more adult survivors than we currently see, based on Jessica Roberts and Tai’s conversation.
I also saw an article where Ashley Lyle calls the outsiders, frog researchers. I am disappointed that they are not ornithologists because I thought we would learn why those birds dropped dead out of air. I think it was Shauna’s baby shower.
But, any type of research would make sense. It would explain several things. Love your videos!

We know Pit Girl meets her fate during the winter which is really close because they mentioned it on one of the previous episodes we also know from the latest trailer that we should see the pit the one thing that hasn't been confirmed is who the mysterious pit girl will be my guess is either Hannah Mari or Gen just based on the hair color
