It's a great tool for service electricians. There have been many occasions where customers were righteously finicky about having their nice lawn torn up for necessary pipe or cable installations.

I can't believe how negative some of the comments are. I think it's a cool idea. 👍

I may be wrong, but it looks like it would be much, much faster wirh a small change to the design. Have the sidewall mucn shorter on one side so that each scoop ejects the last, similar to a lawn aerator. Thrn you wouldn't have to remove each little scoop of dirt. You would just step, scoot, step, scoot along, with each chunk of dirt pushing the previous one up and over the side.

Great idea! I hope you made some good money selling this design

I like it. Good idea. Obviously there are 100 different ways to dig a trench and this could be one.

Great tool for soft and WET ground with grass on top.

Looks like a nice little tool to have ... for short trenches in moist loam.

Just take your power washer with the red tip and go at it. You won't damage any other wires are break any water or gas lines.

I wish my Arizona dirt were soft enough to use something like this. Genius idea, but I'd never get it even a half inch into the dirt here.

👍 I don't need to trench in anything, but I'd like to try this out. Great idea.

What about the 18-24" required by electrical code? 12" if it's GFCI

I like it but it needs a curve in the blade so when you dig in you can rock it in and then scoop out the soil.

I think I'll go out to my garage and invent one just like it!

Great idea, but how does it work in Rocky ground, or hard pan?

Why don't trenching shovels have longer handles?
I really hate being hunched over the entire day digging a 2' deep trench.

Electrical code requires wire and conduit to be 18 to 24 inches deep. Good idea, just needs to go deeper. Also, I have a lot of rock where I'm at, how does it do with that?

I could never use that shovel here in North Carolina. We have about 1/2” thick top soil then
The rest is hard dried out red clay. I have to stab the ground with a 5 foot crow bar followed by my pick axe

seems like a pretty cool tool, but I bet this is a nightmare in clay.

I need to run pvc at least 18" deep. will it do that? If not can I bury wire easily 12" deep?
