Koine (Greek for "common") was the lingua franca of the empire of Alexander the Great and it lasted until the Byzantine era. Koine Greek was the language of early Christianity and the language used to write the New Testament. Here we can learn more about this interesting language with our School Chaplain, and hear him reading the prologue to the Gospel of John.
