Aaron Rodgers Abandons Christ. Once Saved Always Saved?

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers appeared on a YouTube video with his girlfriend Danica Patrick the other day and announced that he's no longer a Christian. Todd Friel and Ray Comfort said that he was never a Christian in the first place, because if you're really a Christian you will persevere. This video is my response.

Aaron apparently has decided he is more qualified to be God than God is.
As far as the folks saying Aaron was never saved, that's somewhat judgemental. He said he was.
I think your exactly right Rod. No man can pluck you out of God's hand. But if you choose that you no longer want to be in His hand, HE doesn't force you to stay.

*Correction* Ray Boltz wrote *Thank You* not *Mary Did You Know* . Mark Lowry wrote *Mary Did You Know* . I should have double checked that. My bad.

Reminds me of the verse that says “there is a way that seems right to a man but in the end leads to death”

Not saved in the first place. However I agree with you on free will Rod.

By the way, the Wretched YouTube channel has their comments restricted. I say this only because there are times when I have gotten frustrated with Todd Friel but haven’t been able to post my rebuttal in the comments section. To me, it’s very telling.

The carnal, lukewarm church, is also responsible for many ‘believers’ falling away. True Christianity is costly folks.

Lord you can and will redeem anyone let us weep for this brother as one who has passed with out christ. But that he would also draw him back with your truth for your word is truth. No one who has truly encountered you will ever turn from you no matter what the argument or what it looks like . If he was never with you then truly bring him ti you save him lord.

Came across your channel through your comment at Faith On Fire. This video illustrates that you have an effective way of communicating.

I am amazed how Calvinists know who was really saved or not.

Thanks for your great content Rod. One point of clarification, Ray Boltz had a big hit with "Thank You". Mark Lowry wrote "Mary did you know". Of course this has no impact on the purpose of this video.

not knowing Aaron personally, it's hard to know whether or not he was saved, but i wonder ... his understanding of the 144000 may be an indicator of something... he seemed to believe that these were the only saved... one who is believing in Christ for eternal life, under that understanding, must first believe that he is one of the 144000 in order to believe that he has eternal life... further, about the "OSAS" doctrine, i think it's important to keep in mind that the thing which led to our salvation (the possession of eternal life) in the first place, is faith in Christ, "by grace through faith", which also is the very same thing which keeps us saved, since we are eternally saved by grace through faith, not by our works (or lack of works).... :-))

He who endures to the end is saved. In other words, Christ is there Shepard forever

Thank God you are making videos like this. Yes we have a choice and we are warned so much in the New Testament to not fall away from the faith!

I'm from an AOG background. I transitioned to Charismatic Word of Faith as I grew older. After studying the Word I believe in eternal security 100%. It’s unfortunate that OSAS is associated with Calvinism. Most Pentecostal theology just throws all teaching of security in the Calvinist bag and argues against Calvinism. Calvinism doesn’t in fact teach eternal security. They teach perseverance of the saints. That is only true believers will persevere till the end. Not much different than Armenianist theology, one must endure to be saved. Calvinism is a five point theology that all interact with each other. TULIP. Man is so lost, he can’t make a choice, so God makes one for him, He elects and chooses some to heaven and some to hell, and therefore only died for the ones he elected. Since no one can resist Him once elected those who are will respond. And since God chose them they cannot be lost.
How does one know they are elected and saved? They endure or persevere. It’s human effort to stay saved basically. Eternal security is preservation of the saints. Eternal security doesn’t deny free will. God in Christ reconciled the world. Now all one must do is believe and receive the free gift Jesus has purchased in the finished work. Calvinism is heresy. Eternal security is based on Grace keeping all who believed in Jesus.
We can disagree about OSAS but we agree on much as I agree with the word of faith.

I always thought it was kinda weird that Way of the Master never taught people to heal the sick or cast out devils. I mean, how can you take ONE instance in the Gospels (Jesus’ interaction with the rich young ruler) and build a template with it but do nothing with MULTIPLE instances in the Gospels (Jesus healing the sick)? If one instance is worthy of having a template built around it, surely multiple instances would be more worthy of a template, —-one would imagine.

The other weird thing is, Jesus told the guy to keep the commandments if he wanted to inherit eternal life. So not the greatest passage to be using if the goal is to get people to abandon their own efforts and believe on Christ.

Finally, the rich young ruler said he kept ALL the commandments lol. The exact opposite response WOTM tries to solicit from those they engage with in their videos.

Aaron says that he was a Christian. I have no reason to think he was lying. He makes it clear that he made a decision to quit believing in the God of the Bible, because he prefers a God that's more "open minded". Aaron has taken his place with the fools of the world.

I agree. Thankyou for great video! I also believe we have free will as a christian. I go astray too but God loves me and when He calls me, I can't resist. His presence is so sweet and being with Him makes me feel at home. No one can come to the Father unless he calls them. He is always one step ahead of me. Calling my name. I love Him. He loves me!
