How does the 260mm compare to the 185mm rear handle for ripping?
I normally use a blade-right sidewinder (top handle). I want a blade-left for times I need to bevel the opposite way and for ripping. Considering it wouldn't be my main saw, I think the extra depth of cut would be worthwhile for times I need it. It will easily handle 4x4 posts here in Canada.
I think I'd go for the 185mm sidewinder for my main saw. The M18 I have will become my beater saw for rough work.
Thanks for all the work you put into these videos!

I 'saw' the whole saw video and am liking the Makita range. I am currently on Hikoki 18v but Makita are making some innovative 'tools and stuff' lately

I have two Xsr01, the 36v 7.5” rear handle saws. Both are horrible ripping, the blade is not square to the frame and cut crooked. I sent one back to Makita for warranty but it came back the same crooked cut. I can’t find any adjustments. Suggestions?
Get the new 40v?

Would be great to do a comparison between the track saw and the The 40V max XGT Brushless 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw with Guide Rail Compatible Base GSH02Z (can’t find outside USA). I wonder if it’s a legitimate competitor for mixed track and skill use.

I've got the 10 1/4 the only thing I didn't think about when buying is the blades are pricey £45

Looking to upgrade my dhs680z. J think the rearhandle 7 1/4" will be perfect

I want to see the RS001 vs RS002 in a heads up pic in pic rip like you do. On some 100mm. Is the bigger blade going 4000 faster than the smaller blade turning 6400!

id love for them to bring out a left side blade 185mm circ i'd buy it instantly. I've grown fond of the left side on my 165mm saw and it's my preferred side

What is the difference between HS005G, HS006G and HS007G? Do they all have the detachable base section? I cant find info that the HS007G does. Can you provide a link to a HS006G model in Black? And any details when the drill like 40V blower will be available to purchase. I'm in Aus.
Thanks

I'm in Poland and a rear handle is kinda awkward, but then again I always set up my cutting station so I can get both hands on my saw, when it comes to roofing I use my small 150mm or a recip saw ;)

I agree with so much of what you’ve said. I’ve wanted a smaller blade saw for a while, I use the 18v as my go to saw, and break out the rear handle for the ripping. I use mine with a prazi chainsaw attachment for beams and man that’s sketchy 😅

Is Makita aware of the blade guard catching during cuts? That seems like an accident waiting to happen. Any way to fix the issue?
