looking great ! what I did you figure things out as you go . each system is different . love that breaker box . some time down the road might change wire from inverter to panel to 10Ga. but for your loads 12ga is just fine . if you have a long run go up a Ga or 2 . you may have to use more than one ground rod to make a better ground. hear I had to use 2 8Ft 8 to 10Ft apart 4Ga to main box. Per UL inspection . That was a grid tie system . you can get GFIC breakers for that breaker box. love that ground buss near the floor . as you add you can easy tie in more grounds. they make a tester for 3 prong outlets US/CANANDA 120V 60 HZ with 3 lights on it for correct wiring .I got mine at Home Depot and has GFIC button test on it as well . keep- checking what to do for better ground . here on the main land the cods change a little for each area . one town over I did one rod 4Ga and it passed,

GREAT EXPERIENCE IN PARADISE WHEN IT COMES TO SOLAR . WITH LIMITED GROUND CONNECTIONS BECAUSE OF THE LAVA ROCKS, YOU CAN ONLY DO WHAT YOU CAN DO TO STAY SAFE . ALOHA !

When we worked in rocky soil at my last job we made he ground rod the designated lizard draining spot. A continuous stream of salty water can't hurt.

Keep it up and eventually you will have everything worked out. Earth ground is not as important as mains when using an off grid system. I never had a problem, but I understand the purpose and I know that it's different than a utility systems.

Hi you can also dig as deep as possible and put some good copper wire in the ground like a spider web solder them together it might give you a better earth

Add salt to the soil around the ground rod. or a salty solution that can get you into the rocks. It will conduct a lot better.

I have a 2000w Reliable inverter I'm hardwiring through a 30a breaker box for a couple of circumstances. From what I gather, I earth ground my inverter but what about the negatives in the 30a box? I can't find 1 single video showing this. Great video though, aloha! 🤙

Too many connections. Most fires are caused by faulty connections. How did you crimp the heavy gage wires? Did you make a gas proof crimp? Did you use ferrules on the smaller wires?

I'm asking this because this is what I was asked when I did my setup. How far should one go in pursuing safety? What is reasonable?

A great Thanksgiving to all. We all have a lot to be thankful for.

Thanks for sharing. It looks like you are using in-line fuse and circuit breaker on a positive end of your charger. Why ? One is enough

Very good...can you check the voltage output of the neutral and the hot of this inverter??...I have a similar inverter and it shows 60 volts in both line...and the neutral and ground are not connected. Hence, it will be very bad if you ground the neutral in this type of inverter. Thanks.

It looks like if you could hav mounted the inverter on som plywood but keep the edge flush on the end that’s hard wired? I think it would give you whatever thickness of plywood you use, that much extra room to work. Never thought of trying to ground something in lava rock.

Some people think the ground rod is to protect from electrical fault shock. The main purpose of a grounding rod is protection from lightning and from static buildup during thunderstorms. The main way to prevent fault shock is to provide an alternative to neutral, by ***bonding*** to ground mains at the ac panel. If you include a gfci trip switch at the mains panel, in that particular circuit then you get the best fault shock protection. Of course if lighting strikes, the earthing provides a better conductor path than the body. Also a good ground plate in that area is perhaps better alternative than a grounding rod. Your local hardware should be able to advise you too or an electrician.

Should run a 300amp fuse. You're only good for 2400 Watts there. Just sayin.
Also, if I may ask, can you not just ground it to your water lines? They go well underground already.
If that is not an option, you can use a grounding plate instead. You only have to dig them down a few inches.

Can you bore hole 8--10 deep
1 in. Hole. Fill with a conducive material.
Rent a drill.

I always wonder why don't you have an micro wind turbine because it seems to be wind there

Why didn’t you just take a screw out of the aluminum housing and ground to that? All circuit boards ground to the chassis

Just wondering if you have your ground and neutral bonded in your breaker panel, it's hard to tell in the video?

Can it be connected to your home and use generator to charge the battery

Is this inverter test open ground on the inverter talk about the ground

Your neutral and ground need to be tied together in your fuse panel in order to have ground on your 120 vac ground terminal.
