In case you noticed, the efficiency calculation numbers were incorrectly stated, but the efficiency of the unit was correct. I explained more in PART 2 of this video. Thanks for watching!

I'm glad he mentioned he got it for free. I typically avoid - infomercials. He comes off trustworthy so I kept watching. I'm new to electronics. B4 this video I was pretty confused by all the different terms - amps, volts etc. This man is so thorough and easy to understand, I have a much better comprehension of how to hook up my solar panels to an end inverter to my batteries and be many steps closer to self-sufficiency/off the grid.

Wow...the end was a real bummer. 😦 I watched the whole video and thought that this inverter would have been a very reliable unit, until it was shorted at the end. But, this was still a great video!

Probably the most detailed and best review I have seen for any product, I think, EVER. I just purchased this unit and am very glad to see you took the time here. Very informative! TYVM!

Was not expecting that ending. Overall good unit if used as intended. Good review 👍

Wow amazing review. I shared the video just a couple of minutes in. I was originally trying to find what size fuse I should use for the inverter. After watching a lot of video's trying to see what others are using, this video taught me more than I expected. Great Job 👍

Your videos are excellent! I used to work in the field and am retired now, you keep me up to date on the new stuff. I also enjoyed your inrush current videos. Thanks for posting!

Good job I would still buy the unit. Short circuit you have bigger problems the unit still did its job.

Wow! This needs some good amount of effort for testing and patience 👍. Appreciate your systematic testing. Like others, I wasn't expecting that ending! I'm sure in the days to come, this video is sure to pick up some momentum. Do let us know if you were able to the comments from the manufacturer in your video description 🙂. Eagar to know the reason for failure! Thanks for the 👍

thank you sir for proving that this is not a short protecting device on the AC outlet... what more on the DC side of the Battery...

Excellent comprehensive tests I must say. I own a 3500W 24V version myself. Haven't blown it I am amazed it still "tried" to run with the overload, but only @ 98 volts or so. That is a fail. Below 108 volts is beyond standard grid tolerance. I know if I run a 1500 watt microwave, the output is around 112vac. Yes, still in spec, but I still don't like that. After watching some others review similar models, we learned that those ATC fuses are pretty much a false security. Usually the MOSFETS blow to protect the 20¢ fuse! I want to add some kind of "fuse" at the output side, but it's got to be super quick acting if there is a full on direct short like you did. Say I put a 15 amp ATC fuse inline and try to start say my circular saw and it blows. OK, kind of expect that maybe due to inrush current. BUT, say I do what you did and create a full direct short....Will the fuse blow before the inverter blows? Hmm. I DON'T really want to test that theory right now!

I respect all you guys that produce YT content, so please don't think I'm hatin' with this comment. Your hair dryer uses 412 watts according to the Kill-A-Watt meter, yet when you measured using an amp meter and a volt meter, your battery was only sending out 352 watts. You either have an inverter that produces more power than is input into it or you need to change the measuring devices that you are using. The tests for over wattage was very informative, so thanks for that.

I know David Poz had an issue with their 5000w model, and they took care of him promptly. He says the company has good customer service. This video is very useful.

Hello thanks for your video. We purchased a Duracell 3000 watt inverter. Then we purchased a die hard battery.
I want to make sure the battery is big enough to power the inverter

I recently purchased this model for running our furnace if power goes off. In this part of Minnesota we have experienced -40f to -50f (rarely) real degrees not windchill. But anything under freezing would be bad for our house. OK. Great set of tests that I was curious about. Sad about bricking the unit with the ac short test. But as stated, it looks good for the price. Thank you!

I have this unit. Have had it for about a year or more now. Started with 100w solar and 200ah lead acid batteries. Now I have 200w solar, 40ah li battery (soon 80) with a wanderer charge unit with temp sensor. I haven’t had any issues with the inverter, however I don’t use it for heavy loads. Just mainly charge yard batteries with it and the occasional power outage I’ll run tv, lights etc. My main weak link is the batteries which I’m slowly adding. It’s overkill for my intentions, but has been a good unit so far.
