This was when OpenAI 6 months of age? That's pretty old. I mean, it's nice and all, but pretty much a LOT of things happened. ESPECIALLY when Musk commented on the "NON-PROFIT" organization's value that reached 30 bil USD. Would like to see the convo between them on that, though.

Decades ago I read a book titled the Turing Option, written by Harry Harrison. Computers can only obey commands, or code; but when computers become intelligent and sentient, rife adaptation and machine learning takes a dark turn--the world appears to react in horror. If people Like Elon and Sam need to give the halt and catch fire command/code--I hope they are able.

I guess this is an old video; considering how Elon cofounded and tried to acquire Open Ai before focusing on Twitter. So I guess this video was done back at the time when Elon considered Sam like a little brother... now they hate each other! And Sam is looking to surpass Elon but that's not going to be easy. Elon is on another level and probably on his way to become 1st trillionaire.

Regarding the effect of AI to the Tech & IT Industry; I think the biggest impact will be online tech interview tasks. Employers would want to give interviewees a special application where they can do their tests/tasks. I still don’t think AI will replace junior developers; It will reduce the time spent on training them. It will also make startups and businesses more productive and there will be a significant increase in applications and softwares deployed on cloud services. The businesses that will survive are the ones that are innovative, solve real problems and care more for their customers. Regarding the educational sector, certifications and work experience will become more relevant because employers may not trust self taught individuals who are new to the industry.

I wonder if these two had any idea back then, of where they would be in 2023, with Sam asking for AI regulation, and Elon no longer being with OpenAI, and how their relationship changed years later. Curious to see this interview again in 5 years from now. For future people (or AI) reading this...at this point of time, on 5/31/23, there is a growing number of people who are predicting that us humans will be extinct. I really hope I can look back at this message I am writing, and be able to laugh about it.
