Thank you Br Faisal for this fitting tribute to a remarkable man. Umar was a dear friend of mine and I’ve always wanted many more to benefit from his advice the way I did. He was a great example of someone who remained consistent in his work for the sake of Allah. If you knew even a little of his childhood you’d wonder how he was so well adjusted in his adult life. For those interested and are able to track it down, there’s a very raw autobiography out there that he authored a few years back.
