I want to get into training and coaching and I want to do something in scale agile framework. If this is true for you then the rest of the video may give you some path. You might have seen a lot of leading SAFe and other SAFe training happening in your surrounding area and you might wonder who are the people who are delivering these training. The people who are authorized to deliver these particular training has to go through a program called SAFe Program Consultant. Once you acquire the SAFe program consultant certification. You can train on SAFe scale academy products and many of the scaled academy products which are available to SPCs. Majority of the training which you see happening in your area are delivered by SPC. Now the second question comes in my days. How do I get SPC? It's a fairly simple process you need to go through 4 days of SAFe program consultant training and appear for an exam and acquire a credential called SPC. Acquiring the credential called SPC will cost you $3000 so now you need to do your ROI calculation should I invest this money or not. If you see a potential of say earning $100 per person then you can recover this cost by just training 30 people. In my network, I see SPC training more than 500 people per year Not just 30. So even if you do a pessimistic estimate of $50 per person you can recover this cost by just training 60 people. And it is not only a cost which you are recovering by doing training it also increases your credibility in the training and coaching world.

Majority of the organizations which are on a big scale are either considering moving towards SAFe or they are already doing it. You can do a test check in your environment and if you hold a SAFe program consultant certificate with you it also helps you to get a coaching, training and mentoring assignment in those organizations because in agile coaching training and coaching goes hand in hand so that's another advantage you get by doing SPC.

Is this not a sales pitch to lure SA candidates to do SPC ? I have seen 80% of my batch mates and colleagues not renewing the Certificate ..It costs $890 to renew ..And is this not the first time you are talking about ROI on doing a certification ? I have great respect for you but to be an SPC and train people one should have experience in SAFe and excellent communication, facilitation skills .Please do not let people get a wrong notion that just by doing SPC and passing exam they can do justice for their training
