Neal Ben-Ari & Judy Kuhn performing Lullaby
Music Produced by Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus

The 19th song on the Broadway Cast recording of the musical Chess. Florence is taken by Molokov to meet a strange man, who claims to be her father. He sings her a Hungarian lullaby, which Florence eventually recognizes as one sung to her as a child. Over the course of the song, Florence is able to remember enough Hungarian to sing along with the man.

Lullaby (Apukád erős kezén)

[GREGOR]
Aludj kicsi lánykám
Hunyd be szemecskédet
Álmod édes szárnyán
Suhanj könnyedén
Apukád erős kezén

Elaludt a párnád
Elalszik a fény
Suhanj kicsi lánykám
Álmod kék égen
Apukád erős kezén

[FLORENCE, spoken]
Father?

[GREGOR, spoken]
Apukád

[FLORENCE, spoken]
Apukád. That means "father," doesn't it? I remember that!

[GREGOR, spoken]
Florence

(sung)
Játékaid árván
Várnak szerteszét
Egyetlen bogárkám
[BOTH]
Aludj könnyedén
Apukád erős kezén
