Water Fountains are Healthier?

Do you know cats have a low thirst drive? That’s because in the wild they get a lot of moisture from the food they eat. These days, cats in homes are often getting less water than they need for optimal health. Is a water fountain a good solution to this? Well, believe it or not, your cat’s ancestor evolved to seek out running water because it helped them avoid harmful bacteria present in standing water. Water fountains also provide new and fun sights and sounds for your cats! Watch this video to learn why you should consider a water fountain for your feline family members - and let them drink to their health!

Max loves his fountain. When I unplug it for cleaning, he goes into panic mode and watches me intently until it's operational again.🐈

I’ve had fountains for my cats for years. Recently adopted 2 kittens. They were wary of the fountain, even though they watched our older cat happily using it. One way I got the kittens to use the fountain was I threw ice cubes in it. They reacted to the cubes as if they were fish (hunt able) and that got them getting used to the water. They are now champion drinkers.

as a aquarium hobbyists, I want to add that the circulating water also allows the chemicals of tap water to evaporate quickly. Should taste better as well as be healthier.

The sound of running water can be calming for humans too.

I bought my first fountain when my cat was diagnosed with kidney disease 5 years ago. She drinks so well now, no subcutaneous fluids needed for 4 years!

One of my cats loves drinking out of the tap so we bought him a water fountain that has a spout, he won't go near it. My husband takes a pint of water up to bed with him every night, the cat drinks out of it as soon as hubby goes to sleep! I love cats, they just do what they want 😹

When my cats were on dry food, I used to add water to their food or homemade broth when available to make sure that they'd get some extra hydration while eating. If you're feeding your cats dry food for whatever reason, you can buy goat milk, chicken broth or bone broth that's cat-safe and tasty so that your cat's dry food isn't 100 percent dry!!!
My cats are now on a part raw part wet diet and doing well 💖

I've also found with my cats that they can see the running water from the fountain easier. When I used large bowls, they were constantly tapping the water with their paw to make it move so they could judge where the level of water was since cats have a harder time seeing still objects. Since I got the fountain they seem to be much much happier and I'm not constantly fishing debris out of the water!

Snickers just figured out how to turn the tap in the bathroom sink on for himself.

After having our cats drink endlessly from an ornamental rock waterfall in the living room, I bought them a fancy filtered cat fountain water dish, and guess what... The little floofbutts still prefer drinking from the ornamental one!

I recently moved, and had to give my cat a dish of water for a few days, until I found the box with lis fountain. During those days he drank very little. The moment I got his fountain up and running, he ran over for a long drink. So, as far as I'm concerned, a fountain is worth the money.

I got a fountain for my cat about 7 years ago and it was a big hit. I’ve since adopted two blind cats. The fountain is now essential. They’re not seniors, but what you said still applies. They had a hard time finding regular water bowls, and the fountain makes it so much easier for them to find.

I bought my Fig a kitty fountain to discourage the little stinker from drinking from the toilet! Also, Jackson said so. That’s reason enough 😅

at local parks in my area, I have noticed 3 different water fountains, at different levels, one for adults, one for kids, and the lowest for pets, such as dogs.

Man, when I got a new fountain for kitty cat, I was nervous, just like any other stuff like new cat tree ect. if he is gonna accept it. You just never know. But once he started to drink more from that fountain, I was so relieved.
Small littel success stories. I swear I'm always so happy when I get something new for my cat and he accepts it :D

My cat Rescue loves his fountain! When it's cleaning time, he hovers around my feet meowing at me as if I might not give it back.
He also loves for me to turn on the sink in the bathroom anytime I'm in there!!

My Love passed from kidney failure at the age of 20. I didn't have had a fountain in the past, made me feel guilty when she was ill. Today my 4 cats drink definitely much more than before I bought a fountain and also pee more and play or wash thei🙂 I've been saving for a good one for such a long time and I finally managed to buy the one I wanted. I don't regret, they drink more and have fun. I clean it as often as possible of course. I know that I maybe won't avoid them being ill one day but maybe it will feel less guilty if I fo my very very best for them...It hurts so much to loose a furry friend and guilt is making all worse and hard to stand. Especially one of my kitties didn't drink a lot and now it has changed, I checked with a vet, he is not sick, he is simply enjoying!🙂❤️❤️❤️ Happy Caturday to you and your best furry friends!!!

My 2 floofs we adopted about 6 months ago used to have a gravity water bowl. We got what we could afford and what was avaliable. Then we worked on getting them a fountain asap. Haku got SO EXICTED when we finally got one that he drank and drank and drank. Then he threw up. He was too excited and I love it. I will never not have a fountain anymore. There fantastic!
