In our wind farm, which runs our home and farm, we use 20 - 24V/200A alternators with 24 12V 8D Truck batteries run in 24V cells through a 10, 000A Inverter to 120V. On most days it supplies our full electrical load (except when welding...we use a diesel generator for that.). Great video!

I think you are one of the best scientist in the world. No one can do this. This is One of the best invention please send your project to NASA

You did that nicely. Because I am a layman in this field, the explanation is too technical. Simplification would benefit knowledge sharing.

Thank you so much. Been off the tools for so long and I became so rusty with my electronics skills and knowledge. Thanks to your genius, it's coming back to me and I've had success with this exercise as a result. Regards, Darryl.

so this is a video that proves that if you plug into the wall outlet you can power things up !

I figured out that same kind of setup thinking no one else had. I was looking for a vid like this but could not find one till now. So what I thought too will work. Cool.

It's great to be scientific for fun, but in practicality you may want to use a battery as a storage tank from the output of the alternator using an alternator with internally regulated output. This way the inverter can take startup surges better. Also running the alternator at slow speeds to reach your desired voltage while cranking up the amperage will overheat the alternator and melt the windings. FYI.

Back in days I had a 120 amp GM alternator on a 8hp Briggs and Stratton that fed 2 big diesel batteries that ran a 1, 000watt 120v vanner inverter out of a ambulance that I would back feed from garage to house. That 120 amp alternator would work the 8hp pretty good!

Buy and add the in-situ voltage controller assembly, this is a part that attaches behind the alternator along with the rectifier assembly beside it. This will keep the voltage between 14V to 15V at any rpm or current draw.

You can build an AVR (automatic voltage regulator) which is a feedback control system that automatically adjusts the rotor DC excitation current so the rectified output voltage of the stator windings is regulated at the desired voltage (for example 11V-15V). The AVR is a current regulator, which can be a DC/DC converter or a linear regulator, equipped with a feedback controller, and takes power from the rectified output voltage of the stator windings and output the current to the rotor DC excitation winding.

Yes but you still have the other motor connected to the outlet

The best use is to charge a bank of batteries and let the batteries handle load.

The cap lol, Mr electron is a back street boy :-)

Thats cool you need a gasoline engine to to run your alternator and a solar panel to excite . Keep up the great work

Nice innovation, But can we Also use Inline UPS in place of Inverter?

Did you remove the voltage regulator from the Alternator and simply replace it with the "freehand wire you were using to increase and decrease resistance by lengthening and shortening the connection, and if so; why is the original voltage regulator not used?

Hi, my friend, . I wanted to let you know" that you can use the heater winding from old heaters as the resistance - wire.!! & even if it get ( red- 🔥 hot), it won't hurt it
Cause that's what they are sapposed to do. So, pull the winding from an old heater that has a winding as the heater coil, ... & you'll be

There is no mechanical load on the drill. With no load, the power demand from the drill is just a few watts, nowhere close to the 350w maximum rating of the drill.
