I started playing the trumpet about a year ago, and at first I wanted to play trombone. I wish I would've watched this video earleir because there would be no way I would play any other instrument and I probably would've played lots more to become as good as this guy! At the age if 69 I started playing trumpet a few months ago, and love it. I started trombone a year ago, then decided to try the trumpet got 'addicted' to valves, and so I just got a euphonium. I love the different sounds of these instruments, but when I really want to play melodies, the trumpet is the best, and the instrument is small and handy.

That was a nice demonstration of the versatility of the trumpet for some different musical styles. And there are more. Baroque. Dixieland. I play trumpet but at one time played the French horn. I prefer the horn overall for some reasons, but it is not as versatile although there is such a thing as jazz horn.

I used to play the trumpet over 20 years ago in middles school. I haven't played it much at all besides a few toots between moving for nostalgia. Trying to find out if I can even enjoy it before I pawn it
