Nick, I just wanted to say that, when I started on the adventure of wet shaving, I found your videos to be invaluable. Thanks so much for taking the time to demonstrate shaving techniques, test products, and generally be an enthusiastic, friendly voice. I've tried tons of blades and soaps you've reviewed over the years. It took me the longest time to finally pick up a Merkur 34c, but now that I have one, I can see why you like it so much. Hey nick, I am a woman but use safety razors (never will go back) anyway, I use CVS' generic safety razors and I must say they are not bad. You should review them you can find them at any CVS. Thanks for making these videos you got me into the world of safety razors.-Kyley

I just shaved with my AS-D2 and a fresh PermaSharp. My face was covered in weeping cuts. I think my PermaSharps will be regulated to my adjustable razor and start at "1". The Personna Blue that I used before this was perfect and only 1 or 2 weepers.

I just got my Perma-Sharp blades a couple of days ago. Put them in my Merkur 23C (a slightly lighter, longer handle razor than the 34C) along with Catie's Bubbles Le Piment de la Vie (sorry, I just can't refer to it as LPV, sounds like a disease) and wow! I knew the soap was good, nice and slick, have used it before more than a few times. The Perma -Sharp blades are nice and sharp and incredibly smooth. Astra SPs were my go-to blade, now I think I can add the Perma-Sharp to that list.

this was my old set up before my 37C slant broke on me. i stopped after 2 passes (with the grain and against the grain) and that was all that i needed. i'm pretty much a straight razor guy now.

I am considering the Merkur Futur. Would you recommend this razor? I'm 6 months into wet shaving. Very irritable neck. I use a Parker SR1 currently. I find it difficult to maneuver at times and always go to a cheap Walmart safety razor to do 2nd pass on neck. I was thinking that possibly on the mildest setting I could go against the grain to get that "great" shave. Thank you

Hi Nick great video I used the Permasharps in my ATTS1 and I got a smooth BBS shave coud harrdly feel the blade
