"Why literally noone in th EU talks about brexit"

- Plz, this narrative about EU being a roadblock for the UK is borderline spreading false information. We dont care. Its that simple.
UK will always be welcome back, but its on you to fullfill the requirements.

On behalf of EU - We don't care. You wanted out, you got out. Your economy is now solely your problem now.

I'm sorry to say that in Europe there's no one talking about Britain any more.

For me as a German i still feel betrayed by the Britons for leaving. Especially in our crazy times with moronic/evil leader everywhere, a sane and united Europe is absoluteley necessary but the Brits weren't able to see that. So be happy with your sovereignty and please do not come back. I wouldn't vote for it

UKIP and farage are alive and kicking in UK politics. No way will there be a reset with the EU before the UK learns how to deal with political arsonists in their own house. We all remember farage in the EU parliament.

I think the UK has a lot more humble pie to eat yet.

Continental Europeans see EU as a important way of maintaining peace and work together. The UK see EU as a business opportunity - conflicts of interests. I see no reason why the UK should join at all.

1 - Brexit is done for the EU, the conditions for any European country to candidate itself to enter the EU are clear, written and accessible to be read by anyone, including the author of this video that I consider surely read it but had different conclusions from mine. Visit the EU sites, view the Copenhagen criteria, view the TCA, it is abundantly clear there are no closed doors, but there are no previous situations to consider, since the previous UK membership of the EU had its one legal conditions negotiated at the time and now void.
2 - There is no "Swiss" or "Norway" style agreement to the UK, again those countries have their one legal conditions and access to the EU, consider the UK only had access to the Single Market and Customs Union via its EU membership, the UK was never, per se, member of the SM and CU.
3 - The UK leaving the EU had massive costs to the EU, massive spending of EU state members of our taxes, so, a UK that wants to candidate itself to be a EU membership will have to, most likely, to pay that bill, and no, the EU would not pay the UK costs of leaving since, view so called continental commercial law, it was the UK that decided to end the contract.
4 - Limited memberships has considered in the video has been denied by the EU members, those are reminiscent of the early proposals in the brexit negotiation that were de facto considered, a maintaining the UK in the SM and CU with no decision or proposals in the mechanisms, but that would allow the UK to continue to have access to the SM and CU. However, in the final negotiation of the TCA it was removed since the UK wanted access and no complying with EU decisions, and since it is the EUs market, it was not implemented.
5 - The viable options for the UK is comply with the TCA - and remember the EU has already began complaints and procedures in Court against the UK - and diminish friction of trade by complying fully with EU standards. Has for the EU flagships, like Horizon, Erasmus, etc, they have always been accessible to the UK, provided it, UK, contributes to the EU budget of said flagships, conditio sine quanon for the UK to access it.
6 - It is not the EU that needs to adapt to the UK, the UK is a third country, the only difference is it was a former member and is a state in the European continent, but either than that, it is not better than any other third countries that cooperate and are strategic partners of the EU. The UK is not better than NZ, Canada or other countries, and the UK certainly has no right to skip steps in access to EU candidature and membership, there are other countries in line that deserve ALL the respect of the EU, and all the attention of the EU institutions. Those countries want to enter and be a part of the European project, the UK decided to leave, hence, pragmatically, it goes to the end of the queue. Has for political and military cooperation, different subjects, under different rules, and not a bargaining chip.

To sum it up you come to the conclusion that the EU needs to be flexible in order to give to the UK those EU membership benefits that the UK can agree on accepting without betraying Brexit.
How about "NON, NO, NEIN"
If we did that, every other 3rd country would look to see how to get that for themselves and even a few EU members might think about that "best of both worlds" deal.
And lets not forget the UK idea of collaboration on security was during their membership a bitter fight against anything that even looked like EU military cooperation.
Finaly during the exit negotiations the UK offered, as part of the deal, to share information about terrorist threats inside the UK and the EU - surprisingly they had no acceptable answer to the easy question why they didnt share that information while still being an EU member.

All in all we have an unreliable unthrustworthy greedy UK trying again to cherrypick.

It is not the job of the EU to clean up the "domestic UK mess", nor to solve British problems.
If the UK wants to become a member, there are rules that need to be followed and requirements to be met before it can actually send in an application. If that application should prove successful it is up to the members (and to their regional governments) to decide on the fate of the British. Those 27 (and their regions) are the same ones that have been insulted and spoken down to by the representatives of the British public in the name of that same public. And that public until now has shown NO inclination to demanding their representatives to apologise. So all in all, we wish the British numpties good luck with their application. Please enjoy your "sovereignty".

Again UK pick and choose? No, thanks! Fully integrated or outside. Moreover, is UK who needs most a market of 400 millions rather EU needing a 60 millions market. We hold the cards, UK.

Sorry but the UK shouldn’t be welcomed back at all, even this current deal should be abolished. Either 100% EU or not, it’s that simple.. Done and dusted. But what should we expect from Brussels.. when it behaves like a cheap …
(From the Netherlands).

Rejoining the EU now with the "Thatcher rebate" is simply not happening. The UK won that deal back in 1984, which reduced its net contribution to the EEC budget, allowing it to keep a larger portion of its contributions compared to other member states. The rebate was a point of contention in EU budget discussions ever since. Trying to get that same rebate now would be like showing up to a party that’s already over and asking for your slice of cake. The EU's landscape has shifted, and they’re not handing out discounts like they used to. If the UK rejoined, it might just end up paying full price without any of the perks! Brexit🤣🤣🤣🤣

Like Boris Johnson, Starmer wants UK to have its cake and eat it with the EU, essentially, I want out of the EU but I still want all the benefits of being an EU member.

North Ireland and Scotland are very welcome back in the EU as well as Greenland and Iceland.

Out of EU ? Suck it. No special deals like when UK were in anymore. EU is not interested and aware not to do mistake like with hundreds of Swiss deals again.

Problem with any partnership is, that you have to bring something to the table. I don't really see that in case of the UK.

The UK's relationship with the EU has been a trainwreck from day one.

They acted like a spoiled brat who wanted to be part of the cool kids' club but couldn't stand following the rules once they got in.

The government begged to join when they realized they were missing out on the economic party, but they never fully committed to the "European project."

Once in, they constantly whined, demanded special treatment, and acted like they were too good for the rest of Europe. They wanted all the benefits without any of the responsibilities.

UK politicians used the EU as a convenient scapegoat for decades, blaming Brussels for their own failures and feeding the public a steady diet of bullshit about straight bananas and other nonsense.

Meanwhile, the British public evidentally couldn't be arsed to actually learn how the EU worked, preferring to believe words on a red bus trundling around the country.

They swallowed tabloid lies and politician's bullshit hook, line, and sinker.

When things got tough, instead of working to reform the EU from within (where they had significant influence), the government helped by Farage threw a massive tantrum and decided to take their ball and go home.

The Brexit campaign was a shitshow of lies fueled by xenophobia and delusions of grandeur, led by opportunists who never thought they'd actually win.

Now the UK is out, the press media is still bitching about the EU, acting shocked that actions have consequences, and trying to blame everyone but themselves for the mess they've created.

It's like watching a never-ending episode of a really bad reality TV show.
