Grade 1: Saxon Math Lesson #117 Measuring Line Segments Using Centimeters And Cute Kittens

Welcome to our first grade online math class! In this lesson we consider the height of adorable puppies and kittens. We learn that 30 centimeters, 12 inches, and 1 foot are equal. The focus of this lesson is "I can measure using centimeters."

This lesson correspond to the first grade Saxon math lesson #117. (Measuring Line Segments Using Centimeters) It also introduces concepts included in the first grade math curriculum from Abeka, ACSI, Scott Foresman, Harcourt Math, and the province of New Brunswick.

This video and channel were created during the covid 19 (corona virus) pandemic. It's purpose is to provide online support for my students who are learning remotely at home. Perhaps it will also be an encouragement to other first grade (grade one) teachers who are striving to provide an online classroom as they navigate the new world of online teaching & remote learning.
