In the first video, a teacher assigns her class the task of dreaming up their ideal superhero. As the teacher is grading papers, one boy’s superhero particularly stands out. The student Pornchai has drawn a rendering of his superhero called Garbage Man. Equipped with a high-visibility and anti-car body armor as well as a nano-broom for super fast cleaning, this super hero is ready to take on any piece of trash he sees. What motivates young Pornchai is his mother, who is a street cleaner, and as the three and a half minute ad for Thailand Life Insurance progresses, we find out that young Pornchai is the real superhero in this story.

In the second video, a little girl who notices her mother is missing at night while she is asleep and continues to notice her running around doing multiple things, tired and sleepy. This film lends itself to reality in most households during the lockdown period, where women are not just working from home, but working for home as well. The film ends with a realization on the man’s part as he sees how singlehandedly carrying the burden of the household doesn’t even give the woman one of the most basic human needs – sleep. The film shed lights on not just the physical load but even the mental load of the house that the woman carries with her every day and every night.

The last video actually tells us that the reunion dinner is a time to put aside the difficulties of the year and come together as one family. The only place we can escape is family. What this video teaches us for the younger generation is the determination of parents to do their best for the benefit of their children. From this story, we know that we should appreciate our parent. It reminds of the reunion dinner, and indirectly, rice, especially during the Chinese New Year.
