You touched on a symptom and not the disease of the problem. However, admitting to the disease requires how marriage is currently set up against men, in almost every aspect, so most are not even making an attempt. Since we are talking business, let me translate it into business terms.

Your business partner and yourself will work to start a business together, both will contribute, and hopefully everything will work out. If you choose to break the contract and pull out, you split the assets that you two built together, and go your separate ways. Nothing more, nothing less. But if your business partner breaks the contracts, not only would the assets of the business venture would be on the table, but also half of what you built before you entered into said business venture, and if the judge is unfavorable (90%+ they are), they can demand that you pay the business partner the money that they are used to every month for years to life, depending on the settlement.

But if you gave some an option of flipping a coin and one side gets the girl of his dreams and the other side he loses most, if not, everything he has built up to that point, the smart ones would choose not to flip the coin. And until the situation changes, most men are not coming back.
