adding in a BALLAST RESISTOR

Показать описание
A lot of old ignition systems used either an internal or an external resistor with their ignition coils. This drops the voltage going to the coil and distributor so you do not damage them. Internal resistors are built into the coils, external resistors usually come in the form of this ballast resistor. Install is easy just mount it with a self tapper, ignition on battery voltage goes to 1 terminal, the other goes to the ignition coil. That’s it, it’s easy.

Don't forget that it requires a bypass to aid in starting.

Strange that they would design that to need a lower voltsge just to step it up again at the coil.

Get an HEI and ditch the points. GM did so 50 years ago.
