You can really hear how fragile he is right now ….and it’s almost like Michael understood that . Great interview !!

"You won...you won the game of Life" Absolutely right! So happy he's made a full recovery. The trainer said he was just doing his job...and he was, but with complete composer as millions of people watched. Props to him! And wish nothing but the best for Damar!

This was an awesome interview and I loved that they respected Damar when he said he didn’t want to answer certain questions. I pray that he remains successful in career

You could feel the emotion in his voice when he said he didn’t want to talk about the collapse

He’s a miracle ! So happy he’s still alive and they administered CPR so quickly . He’s now cleared to play again. Thankful this had such a happy ending..
Hopefully he gets some counseling/mental health help- because he’s been through trauma.. it’s clear that it’s still hard for him. As someone who had a medically traumatic event a little more than a year ago (almost died during childbirth) it’s still really hard to talk about. He probably didn’t want to burst into tears during the interview..

I love that Michael skips over the questions that Hamlin is not comfortable with. Very wholesome interview.

They edited out the seven second, awkward silence after being asked "that" question. WTG, ABC. We see you.

Damar is an incredible human being. he's so incredibly humble. and Michael, in my opinion, is a great human as well because this was all still very fresh for Damar and there were things he didn't or couldn't talk about and Michael just rolled with it and moved on. I think it shows great character on his part.

Trauma can last a very long time. Only a few years ago I took a 20ft. fall at my job working on tree removal. My head hit one branch on the way down so, knocked out, my body did not stiffen, and no broken bones.
I did good damage though and left that hospital asap, 2 days, because that was my first time and I just wanted out. I didn't know that I had a concussion for the next two weeks, nor did I know why I was emotionally nervous for the next 10 months until someone told me that it was trauma.
For the next two years I would drive by that tree and park, stare at it for a while, and still try to remember something, anything. I remember pieces that don't connect, the same thing as the ambulance ride and my time in the trauma unit and the hospital.
It's coming up to four years now, my fear of everything has subsided but to this day, I can't tell you anything other than those few pieces.

As a nursing student/future nurse it’s very traumatic for patients. Praying for him.

I have worked in icu my whole career. I often ask people before, I pull their tube out, I ask what season it is. I’ll never forget the kid that said, “football season.” ❤😂 he’s in college now, playing baseball.
