Good thing to know about angels-- They can take a side, but only at the orders of their respective god of destruction. So, if Beerus says "Whis, kill him", Whis would be allowed to kill that person with no punishments.

I thought it was interesting to hear that, but it makes sense-- considering Vados destroyed planets on the orders of Champa.

I don't think the angels will ever be surpassed. They're not really a goal that matters, since their very existence is governed by their neutrality; surpassing them doesn't mean anything because they can't do anything to you anyway. Surpassing the Gods of Destruction was always a better endgame goal, because not only can they do whatever they want, they - well, really just Beerus at this point - have been built up across the series -via moving goalposts- to be virtually unstoppable.

Also, I don’t think Whis is trying to recruit Vegeta to be a God of Destruction because he feels Beerus is about to die soon or that he’s considering Vegeta’s life span. I think the Gods of Destruction were originally Mortals who may have undergone a certain ritual to gain immortality. The reason he’s trying to recruit Vegeta is because he’s training him and sees potential in him AND Beerus is just a lazy God lol

@ExperGamez - Would the outcome of tournament of power be any different if Buu had joined instead of Frieza? Buu's ability to absorb opponents and harness their powers would be interesting to watch. He can even turn Pride troopers into candy and become friends with Zeno by the end with his child like qualities.

The Angels don't even feel like they belong in the Dragon Ball world.
They remind me of characters from the Xianxia genre.
If you've ever read a Xianxia novel, you’ll know what I'm talking about.
Their powers are built on spiritual cultivation, meditation, and enlightenment, and not on the brawn and brutality that the Dragon Ball world is known for.
The most powerful characters in the Xianxia novels are basically gods, with control over space and time, capable of creating things from nothing, and are able to live forever.
This isn't too dissimilar from the Grand Priest and the Angels in general, with Whis showing the power to reverse time at will and the Grand Priest creating an arena from the void.

I don't thing Whis would have been erased for "fighting" Broly, he was attacking the Angel himself. Whis would not have been picking a side merely defending himself. Much like how when piccolo grabbed his arm and he asked him nicely to remove his hand before threatening him. I think they simply cannot fight for good or bad but they are allowed to defend themselves with proper force. But that's just my theory
