The people involved in this Ghost Army probably had the best job in the entire war, just sit around and be a theatre kid and then go to the local bars and get absolutely hammered.

3 deaths (11000 strong armed with a couple .50s) is mad impressive.

Allied ghost armies: Tactical deception
Hitlers ghost armies: Plain delusion ☠️

It's also worth noting that traditionalists in the British military regarded tactics such as deception, subterfuge and small unit raids as an "ungentlemanly and dishonorable" way of conducting warfare. Most of human history makes a strong case to the contrary of that lofty opinion, however.

Is this the same Army Aragorn summoned? Never mind. Tolkien served in World War 1

This is nice. I had actually forgotten this wasn't just a war news channel. Hate to say it, especially on a Simon channel. But Warfronts and Warographics should both exist, and be different channels.

So early! Hi Simon. Use your videos in my GED class at Folsom State Prison. 🎉

You should almost have two channels: Warographics for videos like this and Warfronts for the Situation Room (with Wolf Blitzer) ect.

I remember reading a Biography about the manufactured Army of Stage Magic that Jasper created when I was in HS. Stealth technologies were attempted to be produced since WWII overall.

This is more warographics style videos. Which is ironic considering the change

Hmm... The 'ghost army' was active before D-Day. They got started on Jan 20, 1944. They were, at least in theory, one of Patton's armies. Patton had been stripped of his command because he slapped someone who had shell shock (what we'd likely call PTSD today).

Anyhow, they didn't get started after we landed in Europe. They got started well before it. They wanted to keep the Germans thinking the attack would come from further north.
